The Coptic Scholarships for the United States of America

A partnership between the National Coptic Charity and the Coptic Educational Foundation.

There are five Scholarships available each year in the United States.

This year's American Coptic Scholars will be elected in November of 2025. They will join an international Scholars cohort to address the most pressing issues of our time. 

The Scholarships in the United States are administered by a regional selection committee covering the following dioceses:

  • Diocese of Los Angeles, Southern California and Hawaii;

  • Diocese of the Southern United States;

  • Diocese of New York and New England;

  • Diocese of South Carolina, North Carolina, and Kentucky; 

  • Diocese of Ohio, Michigan, and Indiana;

  • Diocese of Pennsylvania and Affiliated Regions;

In addition to all of the aforementioned dioceses, all eligible Copts within any of the 50 states, the District of Columbia, and U.S. territories without an established diocese are qualified to apply.

To apply to the Coptic Scholarships for the United States, a student must first earn the endorsement of their church in the diocese in which they reside. You can find more information about this in the Information for Candidates for the United States.

As the Coptic Scholarships are place-based, the eligibility criteria, application requirements, and selection process vary slightly depending on which constituency you are applying for.
